What Other Disorders Are Related To DID?
There are two other severe dissociative disorders related to DID: OSDD-1a and OSDD-1b. OSDD-1a is characterized by the same traits as DID, with the only difference being that the alters are less well defined and may present primarily for task or role specific functions. Those with OSDD-1a still experience amnesia when switching between alters. On the other hand, while those with OSDD-1b still present with multiple distinct identities they do not have amnesia when switching alters. OSDD-1b, like DID and OSDD-1b, can still present with amnesia related to trauma.
